Research Facility Closing–Beagles Need Homes
UPDATE: Please note that I did not write this post, contrary to what some have said. I received it as part of a larger e-mail that collects animal stories from other sites and I was under the impression that they had already been vetted. I simply copied and pasted it because I thought it was real (it is an Urban Legend) and I was trying to help save some dogs. I won’t be doing that again, at least not before checking the story out if I don’t personally know the sender. I apologize for any confusion.
CROSS-POST WIDELY
Alza Corporation, a Johnson & Johnson Company, is closing their Mountain
View, CA. facility.
The animal test facility has 40, 16 month old beagle puppies that
DESPERATELY need good loving homes.
These dogs were NEVER tested.
If you know of anyone, a rescue or are interested in helping give these
puppies homes, please contact Rick Bible at: azoulaybible@ hotmail.com
(at hotmail.com).
The facility manager will have to put them to sleep if no homes are
found by OCTOBER 15TH!!
Thanks for your help,
Nettie

I didn't realize that 16 month old dogs were considered "puppies."
They would still be juveniles so it seems reasonable to me.
Apparently this is not legitimate. Snopes has it on there site.

This is the first time this has happened, and I'll alert the sender. Thanks Emily and Kim!
It seems quite possible the original message was sincere or even correct despite later retraction, some facilities do adopt out ex-lab dogs. Beagles from lab breeds make good pets other than being somewhat prone to barking.
Nope, this thing about ALZA, J & J is true because I had a friend who got her beagle last Oct. from a fried who worked there. They probably are retracting some earlier info/postings because they wanna avoid some sort of damages to the company.
