The Ultimate Dog Food
Rescue Greyhounds, Charles and Violet Rays, have been eating Evolution dog food for over a week, and though that’s a short time, I’m so excited about their energy, their poop, and their breath, that I couldn’t resist telling everyone.
Evolution is a vegan food, and you have to soak it for an hour in water before you feed it to your pup. That’s the bad news, as some people can’t imagine being so inconvenienced! I add shredded carrots, apples, and greens, as well as some Green Vibrance, which I also use each day. It has spirulina, wheat grass, probiotics, chlorella, loads of antioxidants, milk thistle, astragalus, green tea, and every digestive enzyme under the sun.
I’ve never seen those damn dogs so happy. Violet’s insulin requirement has dropped 20%, and her blood sugar is much more stable–not as much of a rollercoaster.
As for Emily the Wonder Cat, who is a carrier of the fatal Feline Infectious Peritonitis, she is also enthused about her new vegan food, but that could be because I’m still putting some wild tuna in it. I’m getting some supplements from Dr. Weisman at Evolution, and I’ll let you know how it all goes (Emme has swollen organs, and fluid in her belly, making her a whopping 13 pounds, and the supplements should decrease both).
The premise in the development of the food was to create optimal health and also longevity. Though it might not be natural for a cat or a dog to be a vegan, several decades of feeding cats, dogs, wolves, and ferrets this vegan diet has demonstrated that natural doesn’t necessarily mean healthy.
Check it out for yourself.
What you won’t miss if you make the switch? Bad breath, huge amounts of rank stool, and the smell of dead flesh in your house.
