Worst Commercial Contest has a Winner!
Back in October, Animal Person wrote about Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine’s (PCRM) contest for the worst commercial of 2006. Well, the wait is over, and the winner is Burger King’s "Eat Like a Man" badvertisement, that sends the accurate, helpful, and even perhaps marriage-saving message that eating the Texas Double Whopper makes you a man. It is a regional delight, I believe only available in Texas, where men are in particular need of confirmation that they’re men, and is composed of:
- 2 flame-broiled hamburger patties
- a sesame seed bun
- 4 strips of bacon
- American cheese
- onions, tomatoes, lettuce (that’s so you don’t have to get a salad, too)
- pickles
- mayonnaise
- jalapenos
- mustard
The delicacy in question has:
- 1050 calories (620 from fat)
- 69 grams of total fat
- 145 milligrams of cholesterol
- 23 grams of saturated fat (more than any human’s daily allowance)
- 790 milligrams of sodium, and
- 234 grams of carbs,
for those of you on low-carb diets.
Bon appetit to all you manly men out there.
