Peaceable Kingdom: The Journey Home Coming to Orlando

From the makers of Peaceable Kingdom: The Journey Home

Peaceable Kingdom: The Journey Home is finally here! After a successful world premiere screening at the Moondance Film Festival in Boulder CO, where our film won the "Spirit of Moondance" Best Feature Documentary award, we are going to the Orlando Film Festival in Orlando, Florida on Thursday, Nov. 5th.

As many of you know, this documentary is a story of transformation and healing that explores the awakening conscience of several people who grew up in traditional farming culture and who have now come to question the basic assumptions of their way of life. With strikingly honest interviews and rare footage demonstrating the emotional lives and intense family bonds of animals most often viewed as living commodities, PEACEABLE KINGDOM: THE JOURNEY HOME shatters stereotypical notions of farmers, farm life, and  perhaps most surprisingly, farm animals themselves.

Watch a video of premiere highlights and audience response here.

We need your help to spread the word! Please consider joining us in building the excitement for this celebration of transformation, community, non- violence and compassion. Ask family members and friends who are unfamiliar with animal issues to join you in attending the festival events. You can send them our evite or our facebook event invitation, post it on your website, blog, social networking site (facebook, myspace, twitter, meetup, etc.), add it to your calendar of events, or just send an email or call your family, friends and colleagues. You can also post our flyers at local community bulletin boards (universities/colleges, coffee shops, grocery/health food stores, libraries, community centers, gyms, yoga studios, animal shelters, vet offices, pet supply stores, laundromats, etc.) and/or distribute our hand bills at local gathering places (university, farmers market, and wherever people stand in lines, such as concerts, movies, etc.) Handbills can also be placed (with permission) in stacks on counters at local coffee shops, restaurants, yoga studios, health food stores, etc.

The festival will be hosting:

  1. I'm so trying to get a "crowd"… But they all know I'm vegan and are in terrible fear of happy farm animal movies and what it might do to them. 🙁 I'll keep trying. If nothing else with the flyers I've put out maybe I'll meet some new AND BETTER friends there? (sigh)
